Uttoxeter Racecourse, in rural Staffordshire, is a jump racing course that has gained steadily in stature in recent seasons.
Uttoxeter races throughout the winter are well attended and the left-handed course of one mile and three furlongs, with a distinct dogleg in the back straight, hosts some good quality action.
The principal race at Uttoxeter is the Midlands Grand National, held over more than four miles each March. It is staged on the Saturday at the end of the week of the Cheltenham Festival and always attracts a healthy attendance.

Uttoxeter Racecourse is a nice track that swings down into the home straight where it is relatively flat. Winners can come from anywhere! There's a little bit more time for a hold-up horse, especially when it gets a bit softer so you can take your time and move yourself through the pack. It’s a tricky start as you’ve got a sharp bend before the back straight. The chase track is relatively simple, the fences are inviting, with no downhill ones bar one, and even that's near enough level. That’s the only one where you may need to hold your horse’s hand.
