Beverley Races

Beverley Racecourse is a small, tight track in East Yorkshire. Only one mile and three furlongs round, it has a famously demanding five-furlong straight.

The course’s two most prominent races are both held over that minimum distance. The Hilary Needler Trophy for two-year-old fillies in late May and the listed Beverley Bullet Stakes, which is always extremely well contested in front of a bumper crowd in August.

Beverley Races Tips

Not surprisingly, the winners’ enclosure at Beverley races tends to welcome plenty of Yorkshire-based trainers. Mark Johnston, Richard Fahey, David O’Meara and Tim Easterby all send out healthy numbers of winners at the track.
Newmarket men Michael Bell and Willie Haggas also have notable strike-rates when they send horses north too.
Jockeys Joe Fanning and Daniel Tudhope are the riders to follow, while Jack Mitchell and Dane O’Neill also ride the track very well.
However, the draw is often the key to successful betting at Beverley Racecourse. On fast ground, in all races up to a mile, high numbers are favoured. However, when the going is soft you should be with horses drawn low.
